Beautiful Hotel in San Diego

I recently stayed at the Westgate Hotel in downtown San Diego. “Wow” is the first word that came out of my mouth. Walking into the lobby made my jaw drop. The chandeliers are huge and sparkly and there are big comfy couches all over. The semi spiral stair case is straight out of a castle, a grand piano fit for any ballroom, and as I was checking in they had tea time which brought a cute community aspect to the lobby.

Staff:

The front desk staff was as sweet as can be. Incredible, helpful and welcoming. They gave great recommendations of the area and took great care of me. I had called ahead to ask if I could check in an hour before the normal check in time. They were accommodating and surprised me with an upgrade and complementary 2 hour late check out.

Room:

Oh. My. Gosh. It was lovely!!! The bed was truly like sleeping on a cloud and the pillows were equally fluffy. I hung out in the robe almost the whole time. Having a balcony to overlook the city was icing on the cake. The bathroom is luxurious and had a huge vanity to do my makeup. The bathroom was elegant and the shower had so much space and a place to sit.

Amenities:

One of the best things about San Diego is the weather. So having access to an outdoor gym year round is a huge bonus. Not only is the gym outdoors but equipped with a track which surrounds the heated pool and hot tub. I used the gym and there were only 2 other people out there. Machines, weights, mats, and more provided everything that I needed for a great morning workout. Next time I will definitely take advantage of the pool and hot tub.

Location:

The Westgate Hotel is right in the city center of San Diego which gives it the perfect location to be close to everything. Only 11 minutes (3.5 miles) from the airport, 4 minutes (.5 miles) from the train station, 6 minutes (.8 miles) from the waterfront, and arguably most important… 9 minutes (2.5 miles) from the famous San Diego Zoo. I felt very safe walking around the area by myself and I was so close to everything that I could have needed.
